Ep19 – The Business Interruption Insurance Debate

All businesses are required to have insurance in order to trade. Some policies include a provision that allows you to be reimbursed for lost income due to certain circumstances. This is called business interruption cover.

At the time of recording a huge test case was about to finish considering to what extent these policies will be liable to pay businesses millions of pounds for interruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Robert Boon discusses the issues being considered by the court and what businesses need to be doing now either to establish whether they have cover, or place themselves in a position to receive monies owed as quickly as possible
